HongKonghasremainedawealthyfinancialhubbutitsincomeinequalityisgreaterthanthatinanydevelopedeconomy.ThegrowingunequalincomedistributionandpovertyinHongKonghavearousedpublicconcern.ThisbookbringstogethersomeofHongKong’sandtheUK’sleadingexpertstoexaminepovertyinHongKongfromthreeperspectives:1,publicunderstandingofpoverty,andtheextentofpovertyandsocialexclusioninHongKongsociety,2,povertyandhealthaswellaschildpovertyandeducationalopportunitiesinHongKong,and3,effectivenessofpovertyalleviationmeasuresinHongKong.Onthisbasis,thisbooktimelyadvancesthetheoryandpracticeofpovertyandsocialexclusionmeasurement,andwillinspirecomparativeresearchandpolicyanalysesforbetterpolicyinitiatives.
